Canon EOS 20D kit + upgraded lens 28-80mm + CF mem + UV Picture(s) and Description:

Canon

What you really need is included... You get the basic kit items, plus the other things one usually needs to buy when getting a DSLR. That way you can get started without having to spend extra for a CF memory card, a lens that goes longer than the standard kit lens, lens hood, and a UV filter to protect it.. You can always add to your kit later, but it is nice to start with everything and not have to run to the store, do more research, or spend more money right away after buying one of these. The kit includes: Canon 20d camera Special battery charger that plugs AND also runs from 12V car power - charge up while you travel! Original Canon Neck strap Tamron 28-80mm lens Tamron lens hood UV filter for the lens - If a lens is worth having, it is worth protecting. Compact Flash card 512mb - It doesn't work without one, so you can start shooting as soon as your kit arrives. Canon Software - The original owner may have misplaced the disc, so this one is a back-up copy ready to install on your PC (it's also free on their website). The Canon 20d has a well-deserved excellent reputation! The 20d was one of Canon's many great successes in the DSLR market. Its solid feel, high-speed shooting, and easy-to-use controls have made it extremely popular since it was first introduced. This was the DSLR that finally convinced many professionals to go digital -- the price, performance, lens compatibility, and high resolution spelled the doom of film for all but exotic, ultra-specialised or certain artistic endeavours. At long last, weddings, public events, and news stories would be captured digitally! Overall it is in very good condition and functions perfectly. It does have some very minor cosmetic wear on the exterior, near where the neck strap attaches and on the bottom. This is all shown in the included pictures. Most importantly, the lens is in very good condition with no scratches dust nor mould. Personally, I prefer this lens to the standard kit lens; 28-80 seems like the perfect basic zoom range. There are some minor scuffs on the hood and the UV filter. The lens focuses well and produces sharp pictures. Overall, this kit works well and definitely has the solid feel of a Canon professional camera. Auto-focus, the LCD, and the built-in flash all work properly. The camera is in excellent functioning condition, takes fine pictures, and will be a great start or upgrade to your digital photography hobby or business. Why a DSLR, or why go to 8 MP when my mini-camera has 10 or 12? and the advantages of BYOL! The main reason professionals and serious amateurs use DSLR's, rather than "point-and-shoot" cameras, is the size of the sensor. It has about 5 to 7 times the surface area of the one in even a fancy "point-and-shot" (that may even be made to look like a DSLR in style). This results in much less digital "noise", so you get sharper pictures, especially in low-light, where ISO's up 1600 will produce decent results, whereas even ISO 400 produces grainy or unsharp pictures on most small cameras, whereas this one goes up to ISO 1600. This advantage will help you greatly when you want to shoot indoors day or night. The other reason is the interchangeable lenses -- see my other listings for some great additional lenses that can be used with this camera. You get a nice starter lens, but as you grow and expand your photographic horizons you can get the exact specialised lenses best for your style. Your lenses are also a long-term investment, since you can use them as you upgrade cameras and as camera technology improves. Many pros who just got the latest $1000+ camera body are still using premium-quality lenses first obtained back in Canon's film days. Look at my other listings that will appear this week and the Bonus offer below for more lens ideas. The pictures... First are pictures of the actual camera kit you can buy. Next are pictures taken with this specific camera and lens. The first two show it zoomed all the way wide and then fully zoomed in from the same vantage point -- quite a range! The last shot shows that this lens can also be used for moderate close-ups as well. Bonus offer: If you need more for your camera outfit, or you like vintage photo grear...
